Course Description

This course is scaffolded for those who have completed our Beginner and Intermediate courses and still LOVE Spanish. Now that you have all the tools and raw materials, it's time to build something and polish and refine your skills. As an Advanced level course, didactic input is reduced to allow you to explore your voice in Spanish. In this class, that'll be done through reading and class discussion. Reading level is adolescent native speaker. If you are new to the school and would like to test yourself to see where you should start, you have two options. 1. Purchase a copy of Lectura (required for all Beginner and Intermediate courses) and read from the beginning. As you go along, it will get harder and harder and might wade into unfamiliar territory for you. If you start to feel you are not understanding enough for your liking, find the course that corresponds with the Unit/Chapter number you reached. If you complete the book with few to no problems, you are welcome to sign up for any of our Advanced courses. 2. Take the Units 1-5 final exam (Members tab: "tests and answer keys") and compare your answers to the answer key. If you are happy with your results, take the next one: Units 6-10, and keep going until you start to identify your gaps. Find the course that corresponds with the test that gave you trouble. If you took all six tests and had little to no trouble with them, you are welcome to sign up for any of our Advanced courses. Required books: 1. De cabo a rabo - Vocabulario/Gramática (this book is our text for all Beginner and Intermediate courses, but will be referenced as needed throughout our Advanced courses) 2. Adolescent novels as assigned
